Holiday Mode !!! Time to be Lazy !! Time to Sleep !! Time to Game !! Time to put on 10 kg's !!
Yes everyone Yes, all of the things above is exactly what ive been doing theese holidays (well not the last one cause its hard for me to gain 10kg's (LOL)).
Its actually been a long time since i last blogged aye? i would of thought that i would blog more frequently in the holidays since i will have a lot of spare time but look what happened. Hahaha.
So what have i done since my exams finished ??
1- Most of the time ive spent theese holidays have been dedicated to Ps3 gaming ! My return to the consoles arena have began since 2006 days ! and boy, its good to be back !! Resistance 2, FIFA 11 and Final Fantasy 13 are some of the most addictive games ive played. Especially FF13, i love the final fantasy series so yeea. When they announce the release date of ff13-2 and if i like the trailers and previews ill definatly be queing up for it !
2- If i wasnt at home playing FF13, 95% of the time ill probably be forced to work. Work's been up and down since exams finished. Some weeks are quiet while some weeks are busy and i get 4-5 shifts. Very tiring too, after 4 consequative days id be like sore all over as if i just played a few hrs of squash.
3- Ive been going back to church now and to YG. My Sunday mornings have never been better than to see good old familar faces again and to breakdown the bible together still proves to be quiet a challange (well actually thats kinda an understatement but yea). The reason i wrote "going back to church now" isnt to say that i havent been going for a long time. Its just for my peace of mind cause when i say "going back to watever" i would consider it making an effort to be consistent whereas previously ive been rather on and off.
4- Other time consuming things such as well the usual (facebook) and msn but ive also done a it of research on other things such as watches, tv's, playstation 4's, mobile phones, Korea, housing prices, hot Korean Actresses and other very random things hahaha.
Thats pretty much the top 4 things, ive done theese holidays. Some of you may read this and think ive had such a dull and boring holiday cause i didnt do such and such but ive had a blast theese holidays. Yes u may consider those things boring but not everyones similar like you, we all have different interests but most importantly at least i stayed away from getting high everyday as a source of entertainment.
What i look foward to in the very near future
1- Resistance 3 and Final Fantasy XIII-2 to come out for the Ps3 !!
2- RICE RALLY 2011 !! This should be a big event. Iam really excited to not just be apart of it this year but also be part of the Evangelism and Renewal team. Its a big event thats happening and i hope to see lots of people out there hearing about Jesus that night !!
3- Semester 2 of Uni !!. Cheers towards another semester (and a closer step to finishing education) and hopefully nothing bad happens.
4- Catching up with all my mates and going for a round of drinks !
As far as my winter goals are concerned, i havent given up on them. I probably wont acheive many more of those goals theese winter but ill still carry it over to next winter. OH and i did get a Haircut and a shave !! and i passed everything in Uni so its HAPPPYY DAYSS until next semester starts !!!

Life and the Internet

Ok, so the Internet !! I love the Internet !! I dont know how i would live without the internet. I think the internet should be considered as like a worldly necessity just like food, water and shelter. Wouldnt it be nice if everyone had the internet??
For me, the internet and facebook is like reading the daily morning paper. I'd wake up, turn on my pc and check yahoo to see wats goin on and then closer to home i'd check my facebook.
The Internet theese days is so powerful it has everything you need in it. If your hungry, u can order pizza hut via online, it has recipes to cook food, it has wikipedia for all ur info needs, it has finance, weather, social networking, games and even up to date news updates from the capture of Osama to the newest korean song by Snsd I heard that there is a new religion called Googleism, so people would like uhh iam guessing worship google??. They say that Google can answer ur prayers in about 0.1379 seconds after u press the enter button. Besides Google beign able to respond to you fast and finding you the answers u want, ive been thinking hard and still dont know how google is going to grant u salvation. lolol.
Oh and the net can also apparently find ur missing family just incase u like ever get lost and even find you a new date if you desperately need one. lol
The downside to having the internet is obviously it can be a waste of time. Like for example, I would tend to procastinate over the net over useless stuff even if i have important stuff to do. If you have an exam or an assingment due soon, you would like you know bludge around the net for a bit, check ur facebook and see wat everyone else is up to then complain on how u have an assingment due tommorow that u havent started on it yet then start the assingment. How many times have u like cancelled an appointment with sumone or with work just because u have something due the next day that u havent started yet but then u would spend half your day doing sumthing else not related to that piece of work and wen 8pm hits, u decide to do an all nighter?? Lololool
Secondly, I hate trolls on the internet. When someone post something nice, like an accomplishment or anything really, theres always that one moron that says something really bad about it. Like cmon ! u sad faces dont need to troll us ! how would u like it if we troll u. Dont u biatches have something better to do? if not then uhhh i dont know, how about go find sumthing else that is possibly better and more effective than wasting your time on the computer writting negative comments to someone else.
My 3rd point is about social networking. What i hate about facebook is that new check-in feature for mobile devices. Actually no, I love that new check-in feature for fb cause it tells u where your're at atm, and who your with. Wenever i go out, id usually yes (lol) tell the person next to me (Eric Lee) who has an iphone or an android to check me into facebook. The problem with the check-in, is when people start to be stupid with it.
Like ok, i didnt know this was possible until a few weeks ago that people started to check-into facebook with their venue as "in bed". So theyre status would look something like this - xxxx is in Bed with yyyy. (where x and y are the names of the people). The problem with this is that, NO ONE CARES. I dont really care if ur in bed with yyyy or with Justin Beiber or with Jen Hawkins OKAYY?? Like get a grip !! why is there even a need to update ur social status by telling the whole world that ur in bed. U guys might be saying that iam just jealous i dont have an iphone so i cant check-in in bed but OKAYY even if i do have an iphone why would i even consider telling everyone that iam in bed with Miss Canada or whatever.
The most annoying thing on facebook has got to be when people always complain about how shitty their lives are. Yes i know shit stuff happens sometimes and its normal to let everyone know about it so you can get help and stuff but wen ur always complaining about ur life every hour or everyday for like 2 weeks it gets kinda annoying and old. The most common one for girls is " urghh i just broke up! iam so hurt i dno wat to do" Okay thats fine, yes u just broke up or watever and i would comment back saying cheer up or talk to me if u want to but then i see the same person posting sumthing similar within an hour and the cycle continues. There is absolutely no need to tell us that your hurt in 3-5 different ways within the hour okay?? yes i know ur feeling kinda down and yes thats normal and good but you have to move on ! theres no need to tell people that your crying in ur room 7 times in a day with 7 active news feeds !! What's gna happen if we all decide to all complain about how shitty our lives is !! it wouldnt be called facebook would it, more like OH PLZ FEEL FREE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT UR LIFE BOOK !!
On a Lighter note, i hate it wen the internet disconnects me especially when iam playing a game. Or even worst is when the disconnect is happening constantly so u would connect and disconnect like 7 times all within a minute. Of course theres a lot of privacy matters with the internet but that all can be solved with a good anti virus, spyware tracker, firewall and other form of defences. Obviously the quickest way to get ur Pc infected with viruses and stuff if wen u visit u know wat or start downloading sum u know wat so obviously try to stay away from there as much as possible.
Of course with how influential the internet is, we all can sometimes rely on the internet a little too much (or in my case) a little too much would be an understatement and we would forget that we can also rely on God for everything. For me like i said above, the internet doesnt grant u salvation, only God does that, which is why that even though the internet is all well and good it is still and will always be incomplete. Yes, i did claim that the net should be a worldly necessity just like food and water but the keyword there is worldly. I guess me writting this post is to remind me that however good our "worldly possesions" can be, its all gna be worthless later on in Heaven.

Beign Mature - My take on Maturity

Dictionary.com defines mature as 1. complete in natural growth or development. 2. ripe, as fruit, or fully aged, as cheese or wine and maturity as the state of being mature. So when you say that someone is mature do u mean that theyre really ripe?? or the other defintion? LOLOLOOL.
But Nah, seriously !! When is a person "mature" 18?, 21? or just wenever they feel like theyve grown up and ready to take responsibility?
I guess beign Mature will have a different meaning to everyone out there. I think that Maturity is when your ready to take responsibility and can make decisions with certain discretion. Others may debate this, and i wont argue them cause thats how i perceive it.
Does beign mature make u boring because u have to act all responsible and stuff?? thats the question i wna ask u guys and see wat u guys think. I think that "fun" will have a different meaning as your age increases. Back in Primary school fun is wen u play video games non stop and play sports everyday and just simply not giving a damn and now as a uni student i find lots of fun in other things. For example, 5-6 years ago i would just go to church to just bludge around, chat, and be stupid. As time goes by, we change and our attitudes change too. So by 06/07 onwards i started going to church for the right reasons and now i guess i find Church and Biblestudy fun because of wat i learnt in KYCK and RICE which ill explain in another blog later !!
I guess, as time goes by, we all become more physically developed and start to think more logically. Another example is back then when i used want sumthing say a PS2, i wud like buy it without really thinking because i want it and everyone else has one. But nowdays, u start thinking about the other alternatives, the opporunity costs and sum of u may even use the cost benefit test. LOL. Whether this extra thinking approach is advantagous, i dont know. But it does help ur decision making which kinda makes u more responsible because we dont wna get ripped off.
Not everythings about decision making though. My 2nd defintion of mature wud also be taking care of ur friends and ur close ones. Think about it.. Everyone that u have ran into, has a significance in the shaping of who u are. People are like footprints !! the more time u spend with sumone the more of their footprint gets left behind on u and the more people uve met the more footprints u have.. I think that, ur friends and family are the biggest asset u have so u want to treat them the proper way.
I guess the only time you know wen ur mature is wen others say u are. People theese days put a high value about wat others think about them. Like for example the Korean girls band SNSD, most if not all of the girls there have forked out a lot of money and gone under the knife to look good (as if they didnt look good enuf to begin with). But yeeea i bet they did it cause well they want ppl to have a good opinion on them cause obviously all of them can sing and dance well.
Another perspective is that, wen u start thinking about theese things u know ur either 1- on the right track of beign responsible or 2- slowly doubting ur self. With me, i guess iam in the middle. Sometimes if i dont know how to act id just stay quiet and follow the motions. Other times especially with people i know and trust id be more stupid (although not as stupid as 5-6yrs ago) more lively and more loud. Because of this 99% of u wont trust me with ur finances and even my opinions but wats gna happen wen i graduate with my accounting / finance degree later on?? how would i act??
I guess for me, rite now. My matureness (if thats even a word (lol)) will have to be a balance of just messing around but also beign able to protect the people around me. As far as responsibility goes, its pretty much straight foward, do the things you want to do and what others want you to do. Sure my decision making may not always be right, but thats the inevitable cause no ones able to predict the future and while others say i have no common sense, thats probably why iam more cautious and ask more of theese so called "stupid questions" which many people classify as the so called "obvious" and look down at me for....

EXAM Periods - Following Through the Motions
Okay so my first ever real blog post !! hooray !!
Ok, so from now on ive decided that Iam always going to start off my blog posts with my "song of the day" section. So today i found this song on my mate Lawsy's facebook profile while i was going thru his state of origin game comments (LOL) and LOL still bagging out Kurt Gidley. hahahaha... anyways here it is, its called Your're stuck in my head like a favourite song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWTrEYmAAu4
So its been 24hrs or so now since my exam periods for uni ended for this semester. Happy ? yes, Relief ? yes, Dissapointment ? yes, for everthing else theres mastercard !! hahaha
The most dreaded part of the exam for me is definatly walking into the exam. 500+ students all walk into the exam rooms, taking theyre respective seats and waiting for reading time. A few minutes would pass and Reading time would start and here comes the best part. The part where u open the booklet and start reading thru the questions and quietly curse under ur breath or in my case smack my head on the table multiple times for beign such an idiot for not studying that section ! (how many times have this happened to u guys??)
After several minutes of Headbaning on the desk, its almost time for writting time. Writting time otherwise more famously known as bullshit writting time to several uni students is the part where u dump everything u know on the paper ! Whether it makes sense or not, it doesnt matter thats the markers job to try and make sense of the stuff u write. 13 weeks of Knowledge out the drain rite here. For some, this Bullshit writting may consist of 1 line, for some a few pages and to those that are daring probably leave it just blank.
The worst part that can happen to you during an exam is when u either Blank out and not know wat the hell is going on, or in a more worst case scenario is wen u need to chuck a big dump in da toilet. Faaar out, this happened to me once during marketing 101 finals. I swear, its the worst feeling ever ! like u sit there, u try to focus but u cant. U know u need to pass but like U cant focus. LOL. The smart thing to do is obviously ask to go to the toilet but then u'd have to get one of the supervisors permission and of course they wud follow u to the toilet as well just incase u try to cheat. I actually dno anyone thats gone to have to chuck a dump during the exam but iam keen to know like if u do, do u have to leave the doors open? cause like u can hide notes in ur undies and stuff. LOLOL
The crucial part is definatly the preperation for the exam, 13 weeks fellaz 13 weeks of topics for a single 3hr exam. Of course u get 13weeks to prepare for it, but for me the serious study doesnt start till u know very much later on. In weeks 1-4 ur study wud just consist of just " YEAAA ive read the introduction", weeks 5-9 is where u start reading the contents of the course, weeks 10-12 is when u start to prepare and week 13 is where u bring it home. The exception to this is if its an Open book exam and ur allowed to bring in ur so called "cheat sheets". Cheat sheets are the best cause u would write everything thats examined onto theese cheat sheets and bring it in with u. I think that the markers, once they see my cheat sheet may consider not allowing to bring in cheat sheets ever agen. hahaha.
Without argument though the best part of the exam period has to be the moment ur last exam ended !! as soon as u hear "PENS DOWN" u definatly breathe a sigh of relief. Others may jump and others may still be headbanging. As we all make way out of the lecture hall, you would discuss how u went on "that" question with ur mates but as time goes by the conversation wud start be going somewhere along the lines of " IAM GOING TO GET SMASHED!! YEAHHH!!". When this line comes up, u all know that u deserved a break and depart your various ways. For the people that passed they expect nothing less than to enjoy theyre holidays, for the people that failed, its going to be a long long month wait for those dreaded results.
As i write this, I may of failed Financial Analysis and Management and will probably have to do it again next semester but until then though.. its time for sum vodka smirnoffs, couple of cheeseburgers and some time to just.... chill.

Faaar out, this happened to me once during marketing 101 finals. I swear, its the worst feeling ever ! like u sit there, u try to focus but u cant. U know u need to pass but like U cant focus. LOL. The smart thing to do is obviously ask to go to the toilet but then u'd have to get one of the supervisors permission and of course they wud follow u to the toilet as well just incase u try to cheat. I actually dno anyone thats gone to have to chuck a dump during the exam but iam keen to know like if u do, do u have to leave the doors open? cause like u can hide notes in ur undies and stuff. LOLOL
The crucial part is definatly the preperation for the exam, 13 weeks fellaz 13 weeks of topics for a single 3hr exam. Of course u get 13weeks to prepare for it, but for me the serious study doesnt start till u know very much later on. In weeks 1-4 ur study wud just consist of just " YEAAA ive read the introduction", weeks 5-9 is where u start reading the contents of the course, weeks 10-12 is when u start to prepare and week 13 is where u bring it home. The exception to this is if its an Open book exam and ur allowed to bring in ur so called "cheat sheets". Cheat sheets are the best cause u would write everything thats examined onto theese cheat sheets and bring it in with u. I think that the markers, once they see my cheat sheet may consider not allowing to bring in cheat sheets ever agen. hahaha.
Without argument though the best part of the exam period has to be the moment ur last exam ended !! as soon as u hear "PENS DOWN" u definatly breathe a sigh of relief. Others may jump and others may still be headbanging. As we all make way out of the lecture hall, you would discuss how u went on "that" question with ur mates but as time goes by the conversation wud start be going somewhere along the lines of " IAM GOING TO GET SMASHED!! YEAHHH!!". When this line comes up, u all know that u deserved a break and depart your various ways. For the people that passed they expect nothing less than to enjoy theyre holidays, for the people that failed, its going to be a long long month wait for those dreaded results.
As i write this, I may of failed Financial Analysis and Management and will probably have to do it again next semester but until then though.. its time for sum vodka smirnoffs, couple of cheeseburgers and some time to just.... chill.
